Sustainability in AV

David Keene, June 3, 2024 – The organization SAVe – Sustainability in AV – is doing interesting things. No need to reiterate the new importance of sustainability, it’s table stakes now in many markets, aside from being important in the larger global context.

What caught my eye with SAVe, is that Kelly Perkins is involved. I’m sure all the others on the leadership team are great folks, but I first knew Kelly from her role at the NSCA. She helped take that great association to even greater accomplishments – and is still involved with the NSCA today.

I’ll be checking out this SAVe event at InfoComm 2024. Here’s the press release (and note they will be a sponsor of the Almo event at InfoComm also.)

SAVe to Host Certification Program in Partnership with AVIXA at InfoComm 2024 in Las Vegas

The SAVe delegation is heading back to Las Vegas for its first-ever AVIXA CTS-accredited SAVe Certification Program, along with a variety of other activities.

ALTADENA, Calif., May 30, 2024 – Sustainability in AV (SAVe), the first U.S.-based organization to bring stakeholders in the audiovisual (AV) field together to take concerted action to achieve the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), is participating in the global pro AV and systems integration show, InfoComm 2024, which takes place June 12-14 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

“Our partnership with AVIXA makes it possible to host our SAVe Certification Program at InfoComm 2024,” says Christina De Bono, Founder and President of SAVe. “As the largest pro AV trade show in the North America, InfoComm provides an ideal platform to educate and raise awareness about sustainability in AV.”

The SAVe Certification Program will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Friday, June 14 in Rooms W223/W224 (course number PW19). The full-day program includes an educational program about bringing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to the AV industry, a workshop session designed to help attendees identify the SDGs and targets they are best positioned to address, and a planning session to turn their ideas into an actionable plan.

A variety of additional activities will be held throughout the show including participation in the Exertis Almo InfoComm party at Drai’s Rooftop Nightclub on Tuesday, June 11 from 6 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., as well as a happy hour and networking reception at the Philips Professional Displays Booth W2544 on Wednesday, June 12 from 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
